How to Create Image with a Transparent Background Using Photoshop


Today I’m gonna show you how to create images with transparent background using Photoshop. You’ve probably tried all you could and finally stumbled upon this website. Well, I say luck was truly on your side for coming here. This tutorial will be easy to follow and very short; highlighting just the points you need to this job. A beginner can even achieve this by following these easy steps. Hope you’ll enjoy reading and this tutorial will be helpful to you.
·         First of all, to begin your process; you will need these items I have listed below:
o   Adobe Photoshop Software. Click here for the latest version of Adobe Photoshop. I will also be using the current version of Photoshop.
o   The image you plan on removing its Background. I’ll be using the image below as an example.

·         Now you have all the materials; follow the steps below to the remove the image’s background.
o   First open your Photoshop after installing. After opening, select ‘File’ then choose the ‘new’ option. A dialog box opens.
§  Select the width and height as well as the resolution you want the image in. I prefer you choose 300 for a clearer image.
§  For color mode; choose RGB color.
§  And for background content; select Transparent.
§  Then after this, select create which is located below.

o   Now locate your image on your device and drag it on to your Photoshop workspace.
§  After dragging, move your image and place it on your working space and make sure the image’s edges lies right on that of the working area.
§  Double-Click on your image to place. 

o   After successfully placing image; use the ‘magic wand tool’ or the ‘quick selection tool’ (Right click on the ‘Selection Button’ to choose between the ‘Quick Selection Tool and the Magic Wand Tool’ to select the part of the image you want to keep.
o   After selecting; Right click on your image and use the select inverse option. This select the part of the image you don’t want that is those you want to remove.
§  Now use the ‘Delete’ key to delete the selected ones or just cut them.
§  Now you have on your wanted part of the image remaining. Great!

o   Go ahead and save your image by selecting going to ‘File’ and then selecting ‘save as’.
§  Enter the name you want to give to the file.
§  Then select the format you want the file in by choosing either the ‘GIF’ format option or the ‘PNG’ format option. And you’re done!

This was how my final image looked like. You can confirm by click on the image to view.
