How to Resize Images Using Microsoft’s Paint
Microsoft paint has been in existence for quite some time
and some people prefer not to use it because they assume it doesn’t have a lot
of features such as Photoshop, coral draw and others. But still, others like us
still use it because we are used to some features which are easy to do with
paint just as you will do with other software.
Resizing with Microsoft paint is just as simple as the
process and what will be done using software like Photoshop and coral draw. You
can easily get any image to any size you want it. The only problem with Photoshop
is that you actually lose some picture quality when are not resizing to remove
some part of the photo and also when you are not resizing to reduce the image
size but rather increase the image size. All the same; Paint is a great tool
worth to use in resizing your images.
The steps I’m going to show you are simple and easy to
follow. It just ABC and you won’t lose your way.
As said earlier; there are two types of image resizing;
1)
Resizing to increasing or decrease image with the
image having the same ratio of height and weight as the old image. (You might
lose some picture quality when increasing the size.)
2)
Resizing image by cropping some parts of the
image.
and I’m going to take
you through both.
We’ll begin with the main point. I’m going to use a picture
of one of Klyy T shirts below as an example.
- In order to increase or decrease image size; first open your paint program and the go to ‘file’ which is located on top.
- Then go to ‘Open’. A dialog box appears which allows you to choose the image file from your device. Locate the image on your device and then select ‘Open’
- After successfully opening your image; you can begin resizing by choosing resize which is located on top.
- You can resize either by using the percentage option or the pixel option. I prefer you first check the properties of the image file and know it pixel and then use the pixel option to resize your image.
- Resize the image to either big or small by changing its horizontal or vertical figure to the one you desire. We’ll change the image size from 470×560 to 570 ×669. Click OK.
·
And you’re done. The bigger image is shown
below.
For the second part;
·
We’ll be resizing by cropping some of the image
parts. We’ll be removing the price tag.
- · In order to do this; first go to ‘file’ then go to properties. A dialog box appears
- · Select the pixel option since you know the image’s pixels.
- · Enter the new size you want to give the image. And you’re done. Unless…
- · If the side you prefer keeping is rather cropped. (For my image, I changed its width from 470 to 370 but it rather cropped the other side leaving the side with the price.) Press Ctrl+Z to undo the change.
- · Rotate the image by either flipping horizontal or vertical by using rotate which is located on top and next to the resize button. For example. Using the image below; I flipped horizontal.
- · I flipped horizontal because I want to keep the side which is at the right now before going to properties and applying the change.
- · Then, I rotate horizontal again to bring the image back to its original position.
